NBSC bags Best Poster Presentation Award of the 4th International Poverty Conference

Research Director Caroline Laarni R. Sereñas emerged as the champion in the Best Poster Category at the 4th International Poverty Conference and 7th National Conference on Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Develoment (iPOVCON 2023). The conference, which took place on October 4-5, 2023, was held at the prestigious Rizal Park Hotel in Manila, Philippines.

The winning poster showcased the findings of the NBSC study on the Socio-Economic Prospects of Various Cultural and Creative Products and Enterprises of Indigenous Groups in Northern Mindanao, Philippines. The study delved into the potential of these cultural and creative products to uplift the socio-economic conditions of indigenous communities. The theme of the conference, “Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Through Health and Innovation,” resonated with the research, highlighting the importance of innovative approaches to address poverty and improve development outcomes. The Samar State University was the host to this highly anticipated conference, which was co-hosted by the Visayas State University. The event brought together a diverse range of participants from various academic backgrounds and institutions worldwide.
